CV is going to start the weekend NFL with a 3 unit play on the DOLPHINS...

No fancy game write-up... but basically here's why...

Da Bears have gotten by the past 2 games because of a favorable turnover margin...

- Brett Favre (Vikings)tossed 3 picks last week & fumbled once...
- The Bills coughed it up 3 times the week before...
- The Redskins coughed it up 3 times before that, but the Bears lost because Cutler tossed 4 picks to DeAngelo Hall and the Bears committed 6 turnovers of their own...
- Vikings only got to Cutler twice (sacks), but before that they (Vikings) only had 9 sacks on the year... Neither the Vikings, Bills, or Redskins are very good at getting to the QB (which is WHY the Bears front line had miraculously been playing better the past few weeks)... One week, also, the Bears had a BYE... I have to check, but I don't think Cutler was sacked AT ALL during the bye week...
- Dolphins have 23 sacks (expect more pressure)
- The Bills, Redskins, & Vikings, 3 of the worst teams in the NFL, almost made as many first downs as the Bears did in the past 3 games...

The Bears are playing ON THE ROAD (on a short week)... Very tough to do in the NFL (ask Ray Lewis & the Ravens last week going into ATLANTA - where the Falcons are 18-1 in the Georgia Dome with Matt Ryan)...

Both Miami QB's are hurt (Hanging Chads for Miami)... I'll argue that Tyler Thigpen is actually a better QB in this spot though...

He's mobile, and can scramble out of pressure from Julius Peppers... He'll make a few mistakes... But the Dolphins stay in this one...

my 2 cents, my 3 units... FINS

Agree with analysis Chet. Not sure I'd have 3 units on this one, but good for a few nickels I think.

I'm in The Woodlands next few days with the familia (Wife has a show here). We've got good internet and I'll have some down time for sure, so should be able to pen a few thoughts for this upcoming weekend.

Go Miami.

Miami looks like crap (on offense), but is still hanging in there somehow...

Defense is doing a good job (but I hope they don't tire out in the 2nd half because it's hot and they've been on the field a lot of minutes)... Cameron Wake is a beast...

3rd downs are where it's been at so far in this game... Chicago has converted a bunch of them... Tyler Thigpen? Not one... Untimely plays and penalties have put Miami in long 3rd down yardage...

Miami can still win if they cut out the mental errors...

And they'd better stop punting to Devin Hester or they're asking for trouble...

I'm not as sure about my 3 units as I was before the game (but I haven't lost hope yet)...

Refs are doing a fairly decent job (except in the beginning of the game)... That was a "grounding" by Cutler in the end zone (should have been a safety and 2 points for Miami, with them getting the ball back)...

All in all though, they got lucky with some other stuff... 6 points (at half "feels" about right)... I would have liked to see Vontae Davis come down with that interception in the end zone tho... We'd be talking about a 3 point game instead...

Now that was a HIT!!! Opening up your receiver to a safety is a no no.

@ahab

I caught your comment...

What you did not catch was mine (at 10:51)...

Just as at (6:27)... Vanished...

You're missing the whole story (because the whole story is being censored)... I'll share it with you sometime...

HFT churn all day tomorrow. No economic news. Futures lower, dollar trying to catch a bid.

Dolphins stunk it up...

If I had to do it all over, I'd have still taken the Dolphins for a couple of units, but sometimes a team just doesn't show up to play...

I'm not sure yet, whether this makes me want to re-evaluate the Bears as a 7-3 team...

I think when you know your defense is going to stop the other team all night long, you're a little more relaxed on offense...

Miami clearly has issues now though... Too many injuries and no identity on offense... CV had downgraded Miami after tonight...

Cvienne - I too missed the 6:27 comment, it was gone before I even knew it was there.

But without knowing what 6:27 said it is kind of hard to get your side of it. If it was rude or disrespectful then why shouldn't it have been removed.

I am pretty sure I can find it though.

What are the odds my TSA agent is a hottie when I fly this T-day? I might opt out of the backscatter radiation thingy...

I wonder if the new technology looks like the equipment in "Total Recall".
