Morning Corner 10.7.11

HYG (weekly info)
-no change (below mid)
trend=down
low= 82.84
rev= 86.86; mid= 84.85

HY lost its luster in June when it reversed lower. There was some hope in late July. But is was fleeting. It's below all SMA's. It's testing its 38.2% retrace (80.40). It's also testing its monthly 3LB mid.

LQD (weekly info)
-no change (below mid)
trend=no
direction=up (1 bar)
high= 113.57
rev= 111.04; mid= 112.31

LQD has held up ok. It actually had its low in October 2008. It just closed below SMA(21) last week. But it also closed below its weekly 3LB mid. The SMA(55) has been the line in the sand for a few years. It's still above any of the minor retraces.

Just reminiscing about bank CEO's, politicians, Fed, IMF, ECB, etc.

If the government believes you did something 'shady,' they'll just take your shit from you.

Nice.

I'm giving the Chavez another two years before it completely collapses... another failed experiment in Socialism-communism goes down the tubes.

@Amen

Just a bunck of silly 'bar SMACK talk' last night between cv drinking his beer & ben drinking his frou frou...

An unprofitable exchange...

What WOULD have been profitable would have been if you'd drown out everything else & zeroed in on taking the HILLTOPPERS & the DUCKS...

@ben

all kidding aside... You pride yourself on reading everything in detail (or at least give that impression)... Moreover, when IN a fight, you're quick to start pointing fingers laying out an impression that NOBODY (save for you) reads the fine print...

Then, you often make simple dumb errors like this:

(10:43)
"and btw, you never tried to float me michael turner for charles, that proposal came after, and who am I going to give up for him then???

Ummm... Yeah... Of course I never did... Nor did I suggest that I had... (undoubtedly you were responding to this)...

(9:55)
Expressly - YOU could have had Michael Turner in a STRAIGHT UP trade with Jamaal Charles just a few weeks before... BUT YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER TAKEN the trade... Because WHY?

Well... as I remember when I offered you 'Turner' in another deal, you expressed you had no interest in him...

---

I suppose I don't blame you for it, because reading back on it, my syntax was probably unorderly... But it ought to have been clear that what I was saying was that the CRUX of the matter was that you basically expressed to me that you had NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in Turner...

Me, being the 'Lord of Boasts', monitor whittling, poor syntax writing, Johnny gut feel that I am... Humbly assumed that a person who said he had NO INTEREST IN MICHAEL TURNER WHATSOEVER, would illogically trade his #1 draft choice in a hypothetical 'straight up' trade for the aforementioned player in question...

Thusly, hypothetical ANSWERS like this:

"BUT YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER TAKEN the trade"...("would have" being the key determining factor in emphasizing the hypothetical posture of the statement)...

Something... I suppose, that a CLOSE EXAMINER like yourself might not miss...

But again & again... Those hypothetical scenarios are all just 'mental masturbation...

& a great man once said...

"but, again, there is a sun, and it's still burning, think thats what they refer to as mental masturbation"

CV,

you are so blinded by thinking you are right about everything all the time that you can't ever understand what anyone is saying to you and read things simply for what they say.

when I point out that you don't read anything (which you yourself hyped as some sort of badge of honor) its when you make statements over and over again when one could verify them to be incorrect, all your comments on margin for example, are ridiculous. I don't always do this in an argument because I don't need to, you only get that impression because you come into most all arguments with me with your feelings rather than many/any facts.

further since I feel a need to waste my time on things that will never matter now, you have no idea if I would have traded charles for turner because the offer never came about and was never presented to me, you offered turner AFTER charles got hurt and said "look at your team" as you'd be open to anyone for him but I have only two good players both of which I would most certainly not give up for Turner, hence, I told you I have NO INTEREST in him since you started bringing it up to me. I didn't even like Jamaal Charles, probably the dumbest draft pick I've ever made and on a crap team to top it off.

you don't know shit about me outside of some comments I've made over blogs the last few years

assuming gets people in a lot of trouble, you like to demonstrate that here on about an every other day basis so thanks for the constant reminder

Ok you crazy kids.

For some reason my weekends have been more busy the usual the last few months. This weekend I'm celebrating my 40th birthday in Big Easy. I'll be back to post some ideas later on Sunday evening.

If you don't ever hear from me again, you'll know what happened.

22. The 'conspiracy' bone that I have, suggests to me that the FIAT based SPX has a possibility of outperforming any concurrent trough in PM's
23. I'd expect that window, IN MACRO, to last thru the 2012 elections.
24. Why? Because part of the cloak & dagger is that INFLATION became part of the equation TOO QUICKLY last time around... This time, I suppose, somebody will try and hold the reins on that.
25. The last thing central bankers want is for people believing that PM's are more valuable than gold
26. Because they want to OWN it for themselves
27. In a POTUS election cycle, Obama can't afford to have high inflation & high unemployment
28. They ought to be able to keep a lid on that with one or two slick moves (& a few distractions here & there until 2012 elections arrive)
29. Come 2013, we'll start to see the real inflation start to kick in...
30. Come 2014... Neely or somebody will re-number the wave counts to something like "abc-x-abc-x-abc-x-PRINT"... The PRINT on that wave count will correspond with the trough in the market in the post Rosh Hashana - Yom Kippur period (basically anytime between next Monday & Thanksgiving)...
31. Come 2015... I'll be referencing this post on some blog somewhere and will be called "Lord of Boasts" from someone who will be spending $2.13 for a box of Barilla spaghetti when it cost 97 cents back in 2008 at this time...
32. Right now it costs $1.65
33. Furthermore, they'll indignantly tell me that I "must be the richest guy on the planet"
34. I won't be... But I will have some food stored away, most of my electricity will be free, or having been stored, a few gold bars, very little fiat... & CERTAINLY (this is the ONLY 'ceretain' thing of what I just said above)... MICHAEL TURNER WILL NOT be on my fantasy roster...

Had to stop at 34 there for obvious reasons...

The EPILOGUE is that I could give a 'rats ass' about what Zero Hedge publishes on 'margins'...

That's NOT the story...

The STORY is that the financial system is broken beyond repair... Nobody wants to deal with the problem... So the only solution is to PRINT the difference every time the going gets rough...

Print enough to make the monthly nut (as I've said 1000x)...

I could say that ONCE & be done with it...

Zero Hedge has to run a business (which I assume is for profit - frankly I don't know)...

As such, to collect eyes, they have to run a lot of BS which basicly 'rhymes' with the MONEY PRINTING theme...

So if it's a 'margin' story, it's a 'margin' story... Hell - some fools ought to believe it...

Same thing if Obama comes on the teleprompter and gives you a load of bull about some agenda he's barking at the moment...

Another thing. Since 10/3/11 & 10/3/08 closed at 1099.23 was this bullish momentum to avoid a repeat of the same?
