Couple of things:

It took 15-20 years to get to the peak in the late nineties from the levels we have returned to today.

Second, notice that the rate of recovery seems to be slowing since 1990. A flatter and flatter ascent.

Lefty, get that hot air down here son, it is STILL snowing. Little Ice Age, anyone?

Did the correlation DXY up, EURUSD down, ES down reassert itself?

Will this be another setup for the JBTFD crowd?

Don't know how many saw the Obama speech during the memorial service, but I thought it was pretty OK. He struck the right sort of tones at the end, and he did a good job of rebuking much of the left wing that wanted to raise the rhetoric/vitriol even further.

Wonder what ol' big head Barry has to say about it? Wonder what Obama's minions have to say now?

Do we care?

Good stuff tonight.....

AR. today was an ugly candle day for the $usd.. but it is still above its 34ema and still trending up ! i am not going to "panic" unless 79 is taken out. Was afraid to look at futures but at least they are not to the moon..

On a personal note. I broke down and got a tube of "medicated" blistex and the NEW, NEW blistex chapstick that claims it does everything I need.. Only been using the stuff for 2 hours but I've got some relief.. I loved the coconut oil but had to apply it every 5 min.. crazy weather everywhere!

Actually an hour and 13 min ago! between At&t and blogspot i might slit my wrists again..

Andy, my younger son is in TX for the first time! His reviews and comments about Austin are FUN!

For instance, "So far I haven't noticed any texas accents...: ( ... and the people I've encountered in my stores have all been young/hip/etc. BUT I have seen a fair amount of cowboy boots which is exciting"

also, via text after a foto of the State Capitol Bldg.. "Confederate statues everywhere"

big waits in the restaurants.. my ex said it was booming there.. no doubt! LOL

more: The city is really clean, nice & The streets are really wide and mostly one way. It's less of a city than LA is though skyscrapers you can count on one hand, I woke up in the middle of the night and looked out and there was maybe one or two cars on the streets.

Karen

If DXY closes the week below 80.36 it will be a weekly 3LB reversal down. Anything below 79.75 and it's below its upper trend line.

all right, AR, i have been duly informed :(

Gerald Celente has been saying that for a few years now. Without QE or bailouts we would already be in the Greatest Depression. But the schemes will have to end eventually.

Karen,

We now have a foot of snow on the ground. Had to drive the old farm truck in to the mine this morning, I was afraid the Prius was too low to navigate over the drifts.

Saw a fellow in from the electric co. this am. He works in billing and said these bills were the highest he's ever seen in 30 years there.
