the fuzzy wuzzy one highlighted this chart from the NY Times:

http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2011/07/long-term-unemployment-by-state/

It's pretty interesting how the duration of unemployment drops off considerable after Week 14 and then doesn't pick up again until after 52 weeks of unemployment. It's sort of an interesting graph to me.

Wonder what happens after 14 weeks?

Monsieur AAIP, was maybe me. I was short the stock... HOG, after it jumped up over $46 the other day., didn't drop much- didn't go up much also, I'm so over that now...even trade

Still hold SPY AUG calls, SPXU SEP calls (may eat this one), BAC calls, and FXE puts bot today, will buy more tomorrow. Love trading FXE calls/puts, seems I have alot of winning trades... oops, I just jinx'd myself :/

whatcha trading now?

AT, maybe it has something to do with the census hiring, then lay-off again. All I know is when PrezO took over, some numbers were changed, had to go back and redo my database. Ya know, it was Bush's fault the numbers were wrong!

This guy Joe Wiesenthal needs to keep his 'day job' of writing 100 word blurbs and then linking to some other story:

http://www.businessinsider.com/closing-bell-july-25-2011-7

Think he was the only one who thot markets were going to "crash" because of the debt celing talks....

in re: the MSNBC clip.

The "bowing down" towards the Fed is really sickening in this country and the MSM....

yeah, Ben Bernanke is a pretty smart guy....but he can be WRONG. It's possible. The fact that we put so much power and weight into one dude...is pretty pathetic.

MSM is still under the spell of the previous FOMC chairman.
