Morning Audibles 10.12.10

I was awake at about 4AM this morning and the futures were all the way down at 1152... I'd been waiting to use this song, if and when the market EVER went down (so it's basically been burning a hole in my computer hard drive)... I was starting to think we'd be on Windows 2025, or Mac OS 21 by the time it was ever needed...

Of course, now it's 9AM, and the stick saving algos, I see, have been hard at work the past 5 hours to assure you hard working Democrats, Capitalists, Obama Supporters, Americans, morons out there who pour every last cent of your hard earned, stolen, saved from not paying your mortgages money into risk assets (because you'd rather make money than be right)...

When are those elections? And who is this guy, and when is his "bitch" coming back?

I think it's time I mentioned that I effing hate this market.. tho i'm slightly placated by crude and gold at the moment..

"Well, i definitely need protection. i'm quite fragile, lol.."

LEFTBACK can offer some TLC, Karen, when you are fragile. From a safe distance of 3000 miles, obviously...

LB has PROTECTION from TBT right now.

i probably shouldn't bother mentioning that spy, dia, and qqqq volume is still low..

can't believe JCG is up nearly 3% today.. 3rd up day in a row.. went to mall last night for first time in many many many months.. armed with my 25% off card for JCG.. couldn't find one thing to buy. the Saks is closing in that mall and the Crate&Barrel is long gone..

@Amen

Hey Amen... Please soothe me by saying that there's some kind of...

"crouching cloud cover homing pigeon" formation on the DOLLAR right now...

...and don't tell me it's the QUADRULPLE EVEL KNEIVEL formation, ot the TRIPLE LINDY for dog's sake...

CV said...

@karen

so basically... they packed up all their SAKS in CRATES & BARRELS and went home?

is that what you're telling us?

Oh yes, the "crouching cloud-cover homing-pigeon" formation

Is SELL the INTEL earnings too effing obvious for words ???

Even LB wants to short this close... and I'm Mr LONG, right?

("I kno, right?")

If this rally continues all the way to November 1st, I'm going to have to vote for the incumbent Democrat in my district.

Sorry. No reversal candle combos on the dollar. But there are no continuation combos either.

Leftback said...

Closing in on LB's SPX 1175 target, here.

There have been some modest declines during earnings seasons, then it's BUY BUY BUY on "QE" due to "THE ECONOMY".

Leftback said...

LB is looking at some overnight QID before INTC struts its stuff, JOHNNY is looking a little too keen here as we head into earnings reports....

Just a swing trade, tho, we remain long and strong... LOL.

CV said...

@Amen

Well right now, CV is looking for the CROUCHING ANDY UNDER THE DESK formation (at 1174)...

Leftback said...

Go on, algos.
Nail 1175, you know you want to...

AmenRa said...

BUT the dollar is making higher lows...

As the world's biggest semiconductor vendor, Intel's results typically offer clues as to where the sector is headed. The chip giant already confirmed fears of a slowing market when it recently cut its sales forecast.

"As usual Intel's earnings will set the trend for earnings this season," Sterne Agee analyst Vijay Rakesh said in a note.

Probably will lose my hedge tomorrow at the open. Still, seemed like a reasonable possibility that we would see a pull-back on INTC.

The overnight job tomorrow is JPM, can't see anyway that one doesn't come out BTE, you know Jamie likes it with a lot of lipstick..

arbitrage789 said...

Not quite as shocked by the INTC numbers as I thought I would be.

I, for one, am shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on here.

The Bond Report 10.12.10
- by Appointment to Her Majesty "QE2"

A quiet day. The 3y auction was indifferent, hardly a surprise at these low yields. 10y tomorrow, and a morning POMO. The long end sold off a bit today, something we will see more of in the future.

Corpies: LQD -0.15%; AGG -0.10%; JNK -0.10%; HYG -0.09%;
Govies: TLT -0.99%; IEI -0.18%; TIP -0.31%
Hedgies: TBT 2.15%

We had been short the long end, and we took the profits. Tomorrow is a POMO. After that, we may get short again, we'll see.

I-Man said...

Speculation.

A lost art.
