Eurozone Sep Industrial Output Falls More Than Forecast

11/14/2012 5:10 AM ET
Eurozone industrial output dipped by a seasonally adjusted 2.5 percent in September from a month ago, Eurostat reported Wednesday. Economists had forecast a 2 percent fall after rising 0.9 percent in August.

On a yearly basis, overall production was down 2.3 percent in September, bigger than the 1.3 percent drop logged in August. The annual decline also exceeded a 2.2 percent drop forecast by economists.

Production of durable consumer goods fell 4.3 percent month-on-month and capital goods production dipped 3 percent. Non-durable consumer goods production was down 2.8 percent and intermediate goods dropped by 2 percent.

..Does make you wonder about Christmas...

Doesn't appear the bounce attempt will be successful (again). Another close below the 200EMA may open the trap doors as the market tries to hold on to what little gains they have.

Why do you think retailers start holiday advertising around Halloween instead of waiting for Thanksgiving? They know the consumer is tapped out. Eventually the ads will start around Labor Day (snark).

Israel just assassinated one of the military leaders of Hamas. Maybe the Mayans were onto something.

The daily spike into the EU close is currently underway. Sometimes the moves are just too obvious.

Plus with DXY up and EURUSD up which currency is getting sold?

Amen,

Where I now live, up high and away from the madding crowd, retailers here during the week don't seem to do much. My wife and I live on a very large farm (we don't farm) 15 miles from the next town, and Dollar General put in a store about 3 miles from us. This essentially put the few Mom and Pops OOB in a few months..and even then they weren't doing much.

This administration has been very unfriendly to business..and the next four years I think will be even worse. Can't wait to see what tax rates are in 2013.

SPX Aug low of 1354.65 breached. Up next the July low at 1329.24.

Now below the 61.8% minor retrace (1384.97) on the weekly 3LB chart. Next support the 38.2% retrace (1335.03.

Or using the weekly SPX chart we are below its 38.2% minor retrace (1361.43). Next support the 61.8% retrace (1228.74).

Shady azz market. Hard push at the close to send the SPX back above its Aug low.

If DXY and EURUSD both close higher does that indicate that there is repatriation of EURUSD going on overseas?
