But if you use a foto caption like the one you used 2nite... It needs a soundtrack... Here it is...

It's hard living in CV's world...

Today I was talking to a crowd and made a very funny & poignant joke about "the WASHINGTON GENERALS" (which suited the situation perfectly)...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fqYVazNybA

After getting a bunch of blank stares (& hallucinating over a bunch of people looking back at me who, in that moment, had "word clouds" over their heads which basically made them question my sanity &/or "self destructive" tendencies)...

I finally asked...

"Does anyone here KNOW who the "Washington Generals" are...

ZIP...NADA...ZILCH... Not one fucking person knew who the "Washington Generals" were... (about half of them had boob jobs though ~ so they had that going for them)...

In the end, I wrote it off & figured they were more WELL ROUNDED than myself...

Yeah... That explains it...

On a more serious note... Today I read one of the "better" thoughts that I've read in awhile regarding the debt crisis (you know ~ that CREDITCANE foto caption thingy that Amen Ra has put on this blog every single fucking day now for about 2 years along with another foto of QE wrapped around an INFINITY symbol)...

The ABOVE TWO THINGS (combined with, what I have stated AD NAUSEUM since Jackson Hole 2010, which was when CV 'officially' exited paper markets & started the "nickles bitchez" & "silver bitchez" meme [even while I was still authoring this blog])... Anyway... cv has become a 'villian' in the process & even though Amen Ra posits a visual reference of the same idea day in & day out... HE... is not not nearly as kooky as CV...

Anyway... to dispense with the rambling... I think the main REASON cv is a lunatic (& Amen Ra is not ~ even though we have been basically been saying the same thing), is that CV STOPPED PLAYING THE GAME 18 months ago)... It's hard to do that (because WHAT IF the game goes on for another 40 years)?...

NOAH was a fucking 'self destructive lunatic' (until the rain came down)...

But the question is (which has nagged me as well)... IS THERE A WEATHERMAN IN THE HOUSE???... IOW... How long can this game of denial be played?...

Answer: "I don't know" (but TODAY I found, perhaps, a reasonable estimation of such)... I'll share... It starts with a basis on this chart...

"Things are worse than meets the eye.

A classic sign of exponential growth is a doubling over some roughly constant period, aka N = X^(2t/T) where T is the time interval to double and t is the time we're at. For most processes, if you look at the exponent itself, it usually doesn't change (much) as the interval is roughly constnat, but the magnitude of the results doubles over the same roughly constant interval. And that repeated doubling over time turns into the insane, out-of-control numbers we're used to from exponential progressions. So, it'd be a fucking disaster if it were even this. But...

Tyler's graph has an offset Y axis and truncated X axis. Usually when this trick is used it's to make something look more exponential than it really is. In this case, it makes it look less exponential. Look at a 10-year or 50-year chart in constant dollars and it's pretty concerning. I eyeballed the long-term chart and it looks like we're doubling the debt every five years right now.

Now, that's bad, but what's terrifying is that a decade ago, the doubling interval was 15 years. In other words, not only are we dealing with an exponentially growing debt, we're dealing with an exponentially growing where the exponent that determines growth is changing, and as a result, the doubling time is decreasing.

If a system were simply accelerating it's speed -- it'd have a constant exponent describing it's speed equation. In the case of the US debt, the acceleration of the debt itself is accelerating, and the time interval to doubling in shortening. I don't think there's enough data to determine if the rate of interval shortening is linear or exponential, but if it's a linear case, we hit essentially infinite growth (aka dollar collapse to zero) in approximately 6 years. The scary little uptick at the very end of the chart could indicate exponentially growing acceleration. That means it happens sooner.

Nothing real can go to infinity, the charts are telling us something will change (and likely break down significantly) in five years at most. If the debt growth acceleration is itself exponential, the doubling interval will likely to be measured in months within a year. The fact that real markets aren't heading up on afterburners just shows that everyone is clueless and/or active intervention is keeping it from happening... but for how long?

Here's a formula that some may find instructive as to how the laws of physics can demonstrate how such things pan out:

v(f) = v(o) + at

[Final velocity is equal to initial velocity plus the acceleration times time]

Now...

To get REALLY kooky... After the above post (by "seer")... There was another post that came up with a similar matehmatical equation which was expressing time and acceleration variables (though FRANK-ly [no pun intended] I found nothing wrong with the first one)...

Anyway...

If you want to toss FGTH (your link), together with the post... Here's the other HILARIOUS post that someone else re-worked as an equation...

N = X^(2t/T) = WW3

@Amen Ra

Isn't it tho??? I was ROTFLMFAO when I read that...

Apart from that... I'm on a "music" theme 2nite...

You know... I was kind of thinking (& reminiscing)... My girl (BITCH as the case may be, tho I'm sure she'd call me a BASTARD as the case be)... Madonna ~ is doing the halftime show at the Superbowl this weekend...

Despite all the checkered past (REMEMBER... this is TRUE... I 'fired' HER)... I still admit, she's still VERY TALENTED...

I really really hope she does well (in the show)... I hope she blows away the most recent acts (who all have sucked)... Last GOOD one was Prince in 2006...

Anyway... "Louise" (I always used to call her "Louise" just to piss her off)... I haven't heard the playlist yet but I hope it's good...

An interesting tidbit... The THING that attracted "Louise" to me, ironically, was the fact that the first time I met her, I was playing THIS song in my class (instrumental DUB version ~ as you hear it here)...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3W61eZOWH8&feature=fvst

...I don't know about years later (anytime AFTER 1987)... But at the time it was her favorite of her own tunes... She was awestuck that I used it (in instrumental version)... & that's what started the whole thing...

Which then ENDED... as ALL things do...

cv said...

@Amen

WW3 even looked funnier because the "3" was positioned in true exponential position (as was the rest of the equation)...

cv said...

@Amen

Don't go thinking IN to too much of what I just said (above)... Buuuuuut...

I always suspected that "Louise" wanted to break free from Nile Rodgers...

That was really just about the first track that she could push herself aside from that because he had nothing to do with it...

For me (& my purposes at the time... I loved Nile Rodgers, Chic, & all that)...

...but it was odd

she never intimitated to me about it (but I have my suspicions)...

(speaking of Songs/Lyrics..)
Why is it, with, at least, half your Posts, I start 'thinking' of:

"I had a friend was a big baseball player back in high school He could throw that speedball by you Make you look like a fool boy Saw him the other night at this roadside bar I was walking in, he was walking out We went back inside sat down had a few drinks but all he kept talking about was
Chorus: Glory days well they'll pass you by Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye Glory days, glory days
Well there's a girl that lives up the block back in school she could turn all the boy's heads Sometimes on a Friday I'll stop by and have a few drinks after she put her kids to bed Her and her husband Bobby well they split up I guess it's two years gone by now We just sit around talking about the old times, she says when she feels like crying she starts laughing thinking about ..."
http://www.metrolyrics.com/glory-days-lyrics-bruce-springsteen.html

You know, Tomorrow, February 3, 2012, is, at least, 'another Day', or, 'a Day that will, never, be again'..

From my own Experience, there's, little, "Good" about 'being "Right", about Yesterday'..

It, to me, has, always, been (a 'bigger "Trick"') to be 'Right' about Tomorrow..

or, IOW, "What have you Done for me, lately"..

or, better, Isn't it more 'Important' to do 'Something' (Today, and Tomorrow) "for the Future"?

WTF is Up?

@AAIP

As for the Bruce Springsteen version of "Glory Days"... I was hoping for MORE (when he did the Superbowl)... I'm just going off the top of my dome here, but didn't he do the SB the 'last time' it was NY/NE???... I could be wrong...

2nite I'm on a 1987 kick... Which leads me to include this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRWyxN5dS-E

I never actually met PRN... But two of his girls in (the Revolution) ~ "Wendy" & "Lisa" used to come to my class all the time... In fact... they were as popular as "Louise" in the day...

Never met "Kat" (the girl in this video)... but I did meet Vanity & Appolonia (both kind of airheads)...

as far as being RIGHT is concerned...

You know???

I'm rapidly reaching the conclusion that it's not "cool" to be RIGHT about tomorrow... Why?... Because usually the PREDICTIONS go against mainstream (making you an outcast)... THEN you're in a NO~WIN because if you're WRONG you're a jerk... and if you're RIGHT you're even a BIGGER JERK (for reminding people)...

On the subject of "What Have You Done for Me Lately"?... I'll leave that to Janet Jackson...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9uizdKZAGE&ob=av2e

I kno... RIGHT?

I'll give you a perfect example about being 'Right' about tomorrow...

- The year before last... on this blog... I made the GREEN BAY PACKERS my pre-season pick to win the SuperBowl... I never abandoned that pick (even as they barely made it to the playoffs as a wild card)... After they won the SuperBowl... It's not like there was a PARADE or anything (for cv)...

- This past year (on this blog)... I made the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS as my pre-season pick to win the SuperBowl... Here we are at the game itself, & I have both AAIP & ANDY taking the Giants... I'm still sticking with the Pats...

- Andy is sending me silver as we speak because of Ravens~Houston & Ravens~Patriots... Other than the silver itself, it did me no good to be RIGHT ahead of time... Popularity wise...

- Last year I hit 6 out of 6 top Oscar picks... Despite Andy (who assured his wife is an expert at it) picked differently... I hadn't seen ANY of the movies when I made my picks... I went strictly by my OWN formula (which, because it's not politically correct, & arguably anti-semitic, was UNPOPULAR ~ even if gifted in advance)...

- The previous year I hit 5 out of 6... The only one I got wrong, I narrowed down to the final 2 correct nominees... (I made the mistake of going with my <3 on the final selection)...

FOR ALL THE ABOVE... I was branded "Lord of Boasts"...

- I said silver would hit $50 before $20 (last winter)

- I'm STILL trying to convince people that nickles are a good idea...

...as I said earlier... the "What Have you Done for Me Lately" argument (correct or not)... isn't a fun road to travel...

Gotta go to bed...
