Morning Corner 11.15.11

NFLX (weekly info)
-no change (below mid)
trend=down
low= 83.46
rev= 115.60; mid= 119.53

Netfilx still not making any headway. It has struggled to rebound. It is again testing SMA(233) and the 61.8% minor retrace. I'm getting the feeling that the abyss is beckoning.

GMCR (weekly info)
new low 44.06
trend=down
low= 44.06
rev= 92.70; mid= 68.38

Have you seen any discounts on GMCR products yet? At this rate of decline they'll have to sell everything (and the kitchen sink) to stay in business. It went below SMA(89) last week. It destroyed support at the 61.8% retrace last week. MADC is still moving lower and Williams %R isn't oversold (ouch).

2s30s Spread (weekly info)
-no change (below mid)
trend=down
low= 2.67
rev= 3.21; mid= 2.94

Banks still can't make much profit from the spread. It's still below the weekly 3LB mid. This is the ninth week of trying to stay above the SMA(233). It's rough out there.

JPM/Silver (weekly info)
-no change (above mid)
trend=up
high= 1.0623
rev= 0.8039; mid= 0.9331

@Andy

Regarding your comparison between Leinart & Schaub (on the previous thread)...

Well - say what you will, but I doubt you (or many) will be actively picking up Leinart off the waiver wire in fantasy leagues this week...

@Amen

Hey Amen... Could you do one of those comparison ratio charts...

JPM:Silver

I'd be real curious to look at that one...

I still wonder who sells the market when it's already down hard right before the market opens....

It seems like for several months in a row now, every single big overnight move gets faded on the open.

Andy T said...

@cv.

I think Texans go 4-2 with Leinart....and finish the season 11-5.

Just a guess...

Chart's up.

Odd that BAC is the only large financial institution higher today. They sold their stake in China Construction for 10B so they didn't have to do an equity raise and dilute shareholders. But it's still coming.

@Amen

Thanks Ra... (for the chart)

I'll be interested to watch that one unfold... Mostly a curiosity...

cv said...

@Andy

You're probably right (4-2), but if they lose to Jax right out of the break, there will be a lot of hand wringing going on...

11-5 isn't going to cut it though (as far as hosting an AFC Championship is concerned)...

Even if they tie with Baltimore (assuming the Ravens drop 2 more as well), the Ravens hold the tiebreak (head to head)...

The Texans hold a tiebreak over the Steelers, but if all 3 tie, the Ravens have the tiebreak over both...

Texans would get to host one playoff game though by winning the division...

Don't count your chickens (& while you're at it, don't "choke" em either - ror)...

Which, by virtue of the likely cause-effect outcome... Reminds me of one of your "run of the mill" BOJ yen interventions... ror

CV

Looks like the BoJ was at it again yesterday. Got to hold 76.56 (the 38.2% retrace). I think they'll stop announcing the interventions and just do it.

Market just keeps pushing higher but DXY, EURUSD, JNK, HYG, IQI all say no way.

CV,

I can't make sense of the Ravens this year, jekyl and hyde that team

they have tons of talent, they'll make a run, but then they blow these games they should be winning, not sure what to think

cv said...

@ben

Ravens will be fine...

Every year its the same... They're 'hungover' after they play the Steelers... (which is where they lost to the Titans & now the Seahawks)...

vs. the Seahawks, they fumbled 2 kickoff returns which set up easy Seattle scores... That & a bonehead pass that Flacco threw for an interception deep in their own territory... Toss in a couple of missed FG's & you get a 5 point loss on the road in a tough stadium to play in in any situation...

I'm not really worried... The Ravens have stepped up when they needed to...

2x vs. the Steelers
vs. the Jets
vs. the Texans

I'm pretty sure they'll take care of business vs. Cincy this week, then they have the 49ers coming to town on Thanksgiving (harbaugh vs. Harbaugh)...

Win those 2 games and everyone will be calling them the 'best of the AFC' again...

cv said...

or... In 'golfing terms'... you could say they're HAM & EGGIN it...

Even the Patriots, Jets, Giants, & Cowboys are doing that...

Unlike the Packers & 49ers who are EGG & EGGIN it...

Or the COLTS who are HAM & HAM'N it...

ben22 said...

oh yeah, I'm def. not counting them out, no way

they absolutely destroyed Pittsburgh in that opener

when that team shows up like that I'm not sure anyone can beat them

also a huge ray ray rice fan and hey, Flacco is a Blue Hen, when you go to UD games you see tons of kids wearing his jersey.

Anonymous said...

why does Flacco take so much 'Heat'?

I think he's done really well..

He started, right out of the 'Gate', too, no?

to me, that dude is, seriously, under-rated..

also, cv--, is that v. Cincy-Game in the "Queen City" ?
