Obama to appeal for $450 billion plan to spur jobs

http://news.yahoo.com/obama-appeal-450-billion-plan-spur-jobs-220002747.html

Jesus Christ on a popsicle stick... The damn thing was $300 billion only 2 days ago...

Is inflation ticking at 50% every 2 days?

Or am I to believe that this "new & improved" hope & change plan will CREATE/SAVE 6 million (instead of 4 million jobs)...

& if so... How much per job is that going to cost your grandkids...?

I wouldn't worry about it... Just buy them some Apple stock & & I-Pad NOW...

They may never have to work a day in their life... & could then volunteer their services as 'community organizers'... (which might qualify them for 'Teleprompter in Chief' openings)...

See Andy?... CV is 'bullish' on mankind as well...

Andy -
just caught your comment on previous thread re hunger games:
"It really is a pretty dark set of books for teenage kids to be reading today....but I'm glad my daughter read them."
quite a change from your expressed concern earlier as to what your spouse was allowing your daughter to read...
kids are ready, and should be allowed to, encounter such stuff far earlier than most parents are ready to allow them (prolonged childhoods). more power to your kiddoh, and to you.
you didn't say though what her take on the trilogy was. have you taken advantage of this story as a teachable moment?

September 8, 2011 4:54 PM"

~~~~~~
Yes, did make it a teachable moment. She LOVED, LOVED the books.
Don't think i've ever had a problem with anything my daughter has ever read (yet)...
As a dad, all the sex/gay/dating etc. on Glee makes me feel uncomfortable. But, my kids love the show and all their buddies love it too.
So, not a lot I can do there....
I'm becoming this cranky ol' father type...oh well. Must come to grips with it.
CV,
whats up with taking BAMA this weekend?
come on man!
cv said...
So everyone who took Aaron Rodgers with their #1 pick (following CV's lead from last year), then wheeled right around and took Greg Jennings as #2...
...is pretty much thinking they're going to the finals in their fantasy league right now...
(& they're probably right)
cv said...
@ben
don't get me wrong on Kid Rock...
I kinda like him... I'm NOT a hater (like I am withe the BEP's)... He just sounded a little... um USED...
& sorry...
PSU is going to get smoked... AGAIN...
I'll say 30-7...
Bama's defense is too tough...
Remember last year they won WITHOUT their top defensive player OR Mark Ingram...
All I remember of last year was watching Alabama self-destruct too many times to count (including what should have been an easy win over Auburn).
sound familar?
"...I will have to disagree with Bob Chapman’s interpretation of why they are doing monetizing debt. The banks until recently have killed all job creation by refusing to loan to small businesses. This is part of the consolidation program where the big corporations use government regulations to add costs to small businesses and use the banks to cut off their credit to force them out of business. An example in America would be the animal ID and the Premises ID regulations. Tysons chicken can buy one ID for millions of chickens, cut up the chickens so uncleanly that they are all infected with salmonella and throw chicken parts into the river. But a small farmer has to pay more than his potential profit from the sale of his chickens to obey the federal regulations and avoid fines, legal fees and even jail for failure to comply. This forces the small family farms out of business, allows the big corporations to buy them out for a few dollars and raise prices to the consumer. This centralizes all power into the control of the New York and London banks who own everything including the government.
I do not dispute with Bob Chapman the fact that the banks will go from sanitizing debt to monetizing it and that this will spur inflation levels over the next two years. I also concede that the banks might loan out money and that some of it will be given to small businesses. I also concede that all that newly created money will juice up the markets and might even lower the current unemployment rate in America from 23% to a mere 22%. And I will further concede that they will use this huge money spurt to keep the economy going for awhile longer.
But my take is that the majority of those dollars Ben Bernanke just allowed to be monetized will go into acquiring every last thing of real value before the bankers deliberately crash the system. This is part of their long term strategy to bankrupt you, steal your pensions and savings, cut your wages and cut your benefits. A good way to phrase the policies dictated by the bankers to Obama, Cameron, Sarkozy, Berlusconi and Papandreou is this:
‘You must have less so bankers can have more. A lot more.’..."
"As a dad, all the sex/gay/dating etc. on Glee makes me feel uncomfortable"
good to hear, moving out of one's own comfort zone. whereas your daughter no doubt will be much more at ease in the real world she inhabits in school that (though commercialized hackneyed, & hollywoodized) glee "represents" (fat kids are real and talented people too) more truly than any of the sitcoms you or i grew up on did.
the teachable moment i wondered about was, did you ask, for example, as to whether she saw any elements of hunger games in the future prospects for this world's next generation or two? prolly not, but it's enuff she found a really strong female protagonist to idealize, one who had to make tough choices, recognize her own faults, etc.
thanks for that last quote/link. rings all too true, yet try to relate that to friends and family and the eyes of all and sundry glaze over.
72bat,
yes, quite..too much so..
this 'thing' isn't, even, a ~1/3 of the way through, and, already, the, even, unspoken ~"I was tryin' to tell ya.."/"I told you so.." 'points of relation' are too much for many 'to handle'..
if that makes sense..
IOW, many that I've tried to 'forewarn' have seen fit, after asking, feebly, "How did you know?", to go their 'own way'..
the, flippin', Ego..should never be the Master..
Didn't get back until the 4th. But it was worth watching. Saints didn't give up. A fake run up the middle that sweeps out to the left would have been better.
Quick thoughts about the game last night
(read them here BEFORE reading any sportswriters who are mostly mindless 'paper statistic' parrots)
I was too tired to make any comments during game & went to sleep right after... GREAT game though... I haven't even checked any of the box scores or stats yet so I can't be certain of the 'validity' of what I'm about to say here... It just 'seemed' that way to me as I was watching...
Here goes:
- I think Drew Brees had more fantasy points than Aaron Rodgers.
- This looks VERY MUCH like CV's prediction that the NFC Championship will be held on the same field (next January)
- I was RIGHT in dropping my unit picks down to "1" (instead of "3")... I still feel I was right in taking the SAINTS... Stopped at the goal line (for what would have been a cover on a play given to them as result of a penalty that SURELY would have been a TD if AJ Hawk hadn't climbed all over Darren Sproles back on the play before...
- My prediction was correct here:
http://fantasy-sports-nation.blogspot.com/2011/09/fantasy-sports-nation-2011-nfl-picks.html
That Darren Sproles would have a monster game... I backed that up by starting him (over Michael Turner) in the fantasy league I'm in with ben & Andy...
- I was also correct that we'd see a lot of "no-huddle" (though - in a way, thats kind of a "Captain Obvious" statement)
- I was correct (per same link above - read the Green Bay/NO pregame write-up), that James Starks would challenge Ryan Grant for carries & eventually supplant him... I have a $200 prop bet with a guy on that... Havent checked the 'touches', but I know Starks had a rushing TD (almost a 2nd one), & carried many times on 3rd & short... Ryan Grant is TOAST...
- When Will Smith returns on the defense line for the Saints, their D will improve... Harper (S) is too old (for some matchups) & might need to get upgraded before the season is out... Patrick Robinson will be fine... It takes rookie corners awhile to adjust to NFL routerunners... He was just giving too much space because he didn't want to get burned on national TV in his first NFL game...
- I think the Packers had MORE punts than the Saints (think about that one)...
- If these teams meet again in January, it will be Will Smith lining up against Chad Clifton (with the latter 'older' & more broken down)... The Packers would have to put a double team on the left side (prolly 2 tight ends), but would then have to keep a guy in the backfield (prolly Kuhn) for blitz pickups exploiting the double team... READ MY LIPS... IT WILL BE A DIFFERENT GAME...
- The public & announcers will have NO IDEA of what I just said...
- I haven't looked at the injury reports yet, but the (arm/shoulder?) injury to Tramon Williams didn't look too good... Looked like maybe either a separated shoulder or broken arm... Packers can slot in some other guys, but it's tough NOT having him on the field with his speed... He was as responsible (as much as anyone) for their playoff run last year...
- The Saints receivers looked 'slow'... But I think a few of them are nursing injuries & hopefully they'll get into better shape...
- Darren Sproles looked AWESOME...
- Mark Ingram looked fine (until he got stopped at the goal line with the game on the line)
- BJ Raji is a beast...
...oh & other stuff
I love the DirectTV commercial with Deion Sanders where they have that dog...
That dog always makes me laugh...
---
& as for Apple...
The more every day passes, the more I HATE APPLE... OK, well, the 'product' might be good, but what I hate is the MESSAGE (& the fucking snooty ass portrayal of their 'coolness'... Apple 'purists' remind me of democrats)... They're so in love with themselves...
OK... so there's this Apple i-Pad commercial which is showing the 'coolness' of this [democrat] in the wilderness on a camping trip by the campfire...
So what's this idiot doing? (you know - this idiot that thought it would be 'cool' because they were going back to nature)...
drumroll...
This nature girl is e-mailing & texting messages with all her friends back home... No marshmallows, no smores, no ghost stories, fishing, rubber snakes in the sleeping bag... She's riveted to her screen TEXTING!!!
Oh but wait, she stops to take a picture of the campfire (to MMS it back to het friends) as if to say... See? You're not as cool as ME because you're stuck in the city while I'm out here enjoying myself as 'nature girl' (which is not really the case because as soon as she gets to her nature destination, she's so bored & clueless she can think of nothing else to do but text messages...
- no baiting fishhooks
- collecting kindling
- or anything
Maybe it WASN'T a chick... Maybe it was Ritholtz...
