THX AR!
Silver concerns me. Is it basing last few weeks or getting ready for another selloff?
...enquiring minds would like to know
QQQQ
Silver is having trouble retaking its SMA(21) on the weekly chart. It's also below its monthly 3LB mid. The last five weeks have been unable to get above the mid of the bearish long candle for the week ending 5/6/11. So I think it's setting up for another move lower.
Everywhere I channel, there's something about Weiner. It's turned into WeinerGate, Weiner should just pack it in! On his popularity, Weiner is shrinking, he's certainly in a pickle. Should Weiner go in hiding for what he's done? His wife still loves her weiner dispite what he's done! I just hope they don't have a son, and name him Harry!
OK, got the weiner out of me! ...errr, nevermind
AR, thx, I had that feeling of going lower, to bad it was a few days after I bought calls when I thought it was going higher than it did. I sold most though but not 100% sure I want to short it now.
QQQQ
Silver is in a tight trading range. I'd wait for the break.
But it has been making higher lows the past few weeks. The last four weeks are making a triangle.

kinda sorta like 'wheezing the 'ju-uice'... (in a byegone era - of course)
@qqqq
I don't know about 'Weiner'... All I know is that his wife is named Huma Abedin...
NO WONDER she didn't change her married name to HUM-A-WEINER...
...as for headlines
Le Bron (the 'King'!)... was getting mercilessly bashed today in the sportswriting world... I've never seen anything like it... Either he's going to come back with the game of his life (next game), or he's probably going to jump off the tallest building in Miami... I don't kno...
---
"he's gonna take his 8 fucking points to South Beach" - lol
We'll see... CV isn't writing him off like the rest of the sportswriting world just yet (they're all fair weather bandwagonists)... But... BUT! They have a legitimate right to criticize last nights performance...
@q's
Yeah... Silver has me kind of irritated at the moment also...
I never pulled the trigger on that 'arbitrage' chance I got... But actually - that's the BEAUTY of thinking long term and not worrying about ticks...
At this point, I'm in AMEN's camp... Wait for the break... If it breaks UP - I'm going to arbitrage scrap silver for gold... If it breaks DOWN... I'll just hold onto it for awhile (maybe a long while), and just ante up more CASH for EITHER at the next bottom...
OK... that's it for me on this forum for this evening...
I gotta hit the wheels of steel to do a 'dance mix' for a class I'm subbing manana...
Hasta la vista bitchez!
@Amen
BTW... You unknowingly gave me an inspiration on the 'mix' I'm going to put together...
Not going with 'Dancing Machine'... But I'm sticking with/KICKING IT OFF with The Jacksons...
WALK RIGHT NOW

CV
Haven't heard that in a minute. My other choice would be "Forever Came Today".
For the record futures are higher because the contracts are rolling over to September.
@Amen
I'm thinking WALK RIGHT NOW might be a good call on equities (& commodities) until the day comes that they raise the debt ceiling and (a few - on Wall St.) can...
PARTY OUT OF BOUNDS (again)

BTW... This new 'mixing' software I'm using now BLOWS FU**ING GOATS... I gotta re-do this whole mix... What happened to the GOOD OL DAYS (with vinyl)... I NEVER missed a mix on my fingetips with steel, vinyl, & a slider... Hell - I could even run a light show with my d*** while I did it...
Take me back...
BTW... Here's the MIX I'm trying to execute...
- Walk Right Now (remix)
- Gym Tonic (Bob Sinclair & the Bucketheads)
- Baby Baby (Corona)
- Larger Than Life (Backstreet Boys Keith Litman Mix)
- Breathe (Faith Hill Hex Hector Mix)
- Lionel Ritchie vs. Michael Jackson (All Night Long vs. Wanna be Starting Something White Label Helluva Mix)...
It really shouldn't be hard... But the ALGO on the timecode keeps re-arranging (rolls eyes)... Must have NYSE programmers involved with that one...
It was the 'ULTIMIX' (remix) on 'Baby Baby'...
CV
Never got into the mixing software. Still use cds or vinyl. But if I can use AIFF/WAV files then I might give it a try. Basically, I don't like to mix with compressed files.
@Amen
I really never got in to it either (mixing software)...
But it became IMPRACTICAL to haul 'Technics 1200' steeltables across the Atlantic Ocean (tho I DID at first)...
- Pro Tools wasn't bad (hate to admit it - but Apple was 20 YEARS ahead of anything that even comes out today)...
- Steinbeck/Jones (a GERMAN company which has since merged into other software), did a time compression software 20 years ago that is still better than anything out today...
- I wished EVENTIDE had made the attempts to have engineers convert from analog to digital (but to my knowledge, it never came about)...
---
Anyway... Nowadays - I hack around in the Netherworlds of what FREE software I can find...
AT LEAST I still retain an aptitude of "who's who" (behind the track mixes)... It's still a pretty closed loop (with NEWBIES gaining entrance on merit)...
When I say 'impractical'... I dunno... I guess I blame the airlines...
I 'effin got a stack of ruined STANTON's to prove it...
@Amen
Oh... and just a little hint...
If you're EVER stuck on LYRICS to describe the impending market collapse...
No need to EVER... Look further than DEVO for your inspiration...

HERE TO GO
"IF YOU SMELL THE SMOKE
YOU DON'T NEED TO BE TOLD
WHAT YOU GOT TO DO
YET THERE'S A CERTAIN BREED
SO VERY IN BETWEEN
THEY'D RATHER TAKE A VOTE
RUNNING SHORT ON TIME
STILL THEY CAN'T DECIDE
BUT WE ALREADY KNOW
THAT WE ARE HERE TO GO
WE ARE HERE TO GO
WE ARE HERE TO GO
WE ARE HERE TO GO
WE ARE HERE TO GO
WHAT IS REALLY MINE
WHO'S AT THE TOP OF THE PILE
WHERE DOES HE DRAW THE LINE
LET THEM FIGURE IT OUT
GO ON AND STEP ACROSS
JUST REMIND YOURSELF
THAT WE ARE HERE TO GO (refrain)
WHEN IT GROWS TOO LONG
THE TAIL WAGS THE DOG
THE HAND THAT BITES GETS FED
TROUBLES MULTIPLY
THE CROWD BEGINS TO CRY
FOR SOME COMMON SENSE
LET THEM ALL DIG IN
WHEN THE ODDS ARE NO WIN
HEAD FOR THE NEAREST DOOR
'CAUSE WE ARE HERE TO GO
GO!
But then...
Don't listen to CV...
USE YOUR FREEDOM OF CHOICE...

CV
Traktor or Serato seem to be the choices for those who decide to use software. Mostly because the cd books become huge. You can use wav/aiff or mp3 files.
A victim of collision on the open sea...
Nobody ever said, Life was free...
Sink... Swim... Go down with the ship...
USE YOUR FREEDOM OF CHOICE...
(or - just frequent a DIFFERENT blog - where, you'll be BANNED FOR LIFE - if you express a different POV)...
@Amen
This sounds TOTALLY cheesy (and, honestly, is)... but these days... in the end... I just go with the mp3 mixes...
it's 1 tenth the file size of the WAV/AIFF's, and WEIRDLY (or not), it'll eat up your CPU in a way that f's up your mixes (which is what I was complaining about earlier)...
Worse... You never know when it's going to happen...
Grrrrrr.
@Amen
Oh... & speaking on whether or not people actually understand what 'geniuses' DEVO were...
Here's a 1982 live footage... The FIRST 'live' 3-D video ever broadcast... About 25 years before TODAY's geniuses figured it out...
So to all the 'young-uns' out there... SOME people (not CV - of course), actually had a few things figured out, probably before you were born...
But we'll NEVER admit it (because the GOOD THINGS all started to happen after Y'ALL took control - right?)... :-)
oh... the LINK (sorry - senility comes with knowledge)...

If I remember right it's 10.585MB/min to digitize a stereo music file. So a 1TB drive can hold 94473 minutes of cd audio (or 1574.5 hrs). Freaky. But you can have all of your music at cd quality. especially if you play out and you want your set to sound as good as possible.
CV, mix a little Usher in... lyrics a bit much though? They're even doing aerobics around 4:45 min.
Hello, Bertie here, long time no speak. Now CV, I know you love your music but you CANT use MP3s, unless the speakers that you are forced to use are so bad that it makes no diff, in which case I'm sorry because your students/clients/whatever will be missing out on experiencing the great music you are providing them.
Back to topic, I remain riveted by this blog and I apologise for my continued lack of verbal presence. However!...the restructure at my company that I have previously mentioned is now complete (luckily I was successful in my tilt) so hopefully my stress levels will come back down. In the meantime, raising my glass to all contributors here, best Bertie
