LEFTBACK'S BOND REPORT

I posted this in the other thread right after the break:

The bond report needs more drama--lipstick on the pig, if you will. I took the liberty of replacing some kardashian names from episode summaries to produce a Fox Network-worthy bond report:

When High Yield flirts with her personal trainer, the result is more than she asked for. IG, being the competitive person that she is, gets munis upset. Munis and foreign sovereigns face complications when deciding to make another baby.

I must say that the Matthews, Bobs,Colins,18's,Bert and Ernies, and everyone elses have livened up the place. Leftback stayed up all night addressing Valentines to the cute redheaded girl (won't do him any good either) and fell asleep today. Meanwhile GS had another day when they didn't lose money and have tuned the HVAC computers at GS to buy and sell on average of every 2.2 seconds, setting all kinds of electonic records and siphoning off more Benjamins...

Seniors 'Near Poverty' at Risk in Deficit Cuts

"Most senior advocates say the ability of many seniors to weather the recession was due largely to a fluke jump in energy prices in the summer of 2008. This spike drove up overall consumer prices and, even though oil prices retreated, the summer jump caused a record 5.8 percent annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) in Social Security benefits in 2009. In 2010 and 2011, by contrast, there has been no increase in the COLA, while healthcare costs continued to rise. And now, food and energy price increases are expected to take a serious bite out of consumer budgets. Such cyclical price swings don't get included in so-called core inflation, and the formal news on the inflation front is still for little changes in these core prices. But in the real world, prices are going up."

...When Bernanke dies and goes to hell, I hope his cot is over by the furnance. And I hope ALL the coal has a letter on it..4 letters actually ZIRP. And when he's shoveling, I hope he is reminded of these seniors with every shovel full.

...Other than that, I have no real opinion...

Like the Khardasian "spin."

Is this a great country or what?! Untalented woman can get rich just for "existing on TV."

It's sort of amazing, isn't it?

Spring time weather in H-Town. I'm barbequeing Surf and Turf for my ladies on Valentines Day-- restaurants around here are an effing ZOO on VD.

Andy - Please leave the other blog alone - your continued harassment is not welcome. If people over there wanted to hear what you have to say they'd come over here.

Just saw the cover of my wife's latest US Weekly magazine, which I must admit to "perusing" now and again.

Scarlett Johanssen dating Sean Pean....

Ugh.

SJ used to be on my Top 3 list in the world...she's slipping down that list with that choice.

She is already under his spell.

No.

I only drop a few comments each week and they're always "on topic" or "pertinent" to whatever the discussion was that interested me.

I like Rock, Dastro and Emmannuel's posts and I'm even warming back up to Mannwich...I like to give those guys feedback every now and again.

It's a free country (still). If you don't like people outside the "tight knit circle" commenting, then take your blog private.

DXY has given up 78.60 in the AH. Will this hold until the market open?

Andy T said...

One the DXY, it sort of looks like 78.28 is the important number--the level that held last night and today...sort of corresponds with a fuzzy neckline as well.

Andy T said...

"Bearish Deep Crab"....

That's a 'new' one to me...

Andy - Yes, leave people alone. They never bother us here, what is wrong with you? "no, it's a free country". You sound like a petulant child.

For what it's worth, I though Mannwich broached an interesting topic today: "Is Innovative Stagnation Upon Us"

He brings up the tension around the fact that new jobs aren't being created quick enough despite what feels like technological advancement.

This was my comment which was deleted:

Good Topic Mannwich--

The issue is that technological advancement, at it's core, is a powerful deflationary force. Think about much %GDP we need to provide shelter, food, and clothing to the US citizenry now, compared to 100 years ago. It boggles the mind how much LESS we spend on such things now.

So, the problem with the Economy is that we "need" less workers to provide the same amount of essentials than at any time in our past--and, it will be a persistent trend.

Which is why, various degrees of socialism is an "inevitability." We essentially have groups of people with nothing to do.

I happen to think this is "the most" important concept we'll have to deal with as a society, and I simply wanted to provide that particular feedback to Mannwich.

Sometimes I just don't get it. Why do they have it in for you?

Anyway DXY down, AUDJPY up, USTs down (so yields are up), ES & YM flat. Tomorrow looks to be turning into another BTFD day. Geezus.

Anonymous said...

Amen - Are you kidding me? THAT'S your question? Not "why do you keep going over there day after day, week after week, month after month, poking these people with a stick, when they've asked you a hundred times to stop"?

You want to know why they have it out for him?

You're a fine piece of work there pal.

anonymous, andy, cv, ra, thor, denise, et.al -

it is beyond me.
what's in it for anyone to engage in ad hominem argument?
if someone goes beyond critiquing a position to ad hominem argument, the ONLY response is NO response.
if an "unwelcome" person posts comments on a blog, simply don't read it, skip over it, just ignore the person.
at best, for everyone else, it's a sideshow of immaturity.

Since the few times I've been back over there I've never seen any posts by Andy. They've all been deleted. So how can I know what was said? The only thing I end up seeing are the words of hatred from yourself and others against Andy. But if this how you deal with things online then I can only imagine how you actually are in real life.

Anonymous said...

Amen - The fact that not one of the regular contributors of the other blog will say a word here, while half the people from here go back and forth between the two blogs should be clear enough evidence of where the bullshit comes from. It's not the other blog.

But if this how you deal with things online then I can only imagine how you actually are in real life.

You've sat back for how many months here and ignored the vile personal attacks on anyone and everyone, no matter how racists, sexists, or homophobic. I don't have to imagine what you're like in real life, you've already proven to anyone paying attention where your moral compass is aligned.

it's a sideshow of immaturity.

No, the sideshow of immaturity has been conducted for the last year by CV and Andy. Or do you honestly think harassing people incessantly is a sign of maturity?

That you're all naive enough to believe a word of Andy's "oh I'm always on topic" given the vitriol he has publicly spouted both here and everywhere else he hangs out on the internet is clear evidence of how truly deluded some of you all are.

Unnecessary and redundant. If you're looking for "incredible boneheaded statements and positions", just cut and paste this entire thread.
January 6, 2011 11:20 PM

Sure sounds "on topic" to me. None of these posts are deleted either - they're all moved into Spam, everyone on the other blog sees them as they go up there and everyone has collectively agreed that that's where they belong until Andy can learn to act like an adult.

For real?

I had to bookmark the 2/16 thread today. Were you having some sort of nervous breakdown Thor?

Please regurgitate one of my deleted comments (better make sure it's mine this time) and post it...

I stand by anything I've ever written there.

You won't do it because you know you'll like a fool...

I've been respectful to the discussion. You have to delete my comments to keep up the "story" that I'm a "mean" guy....

Funny stuff....
