The Bond Report 2.8.11

A man is sobbing uncontrollably into his pillow. He is a fixed income investor. COLD STEEL is at the window, looking out at the grey landscape, smoking a cigarette.

I don't mean to rehash old, and silly discussions, but going through the comments today:

and, CV, brot up a good point last night.. i found nothing odd about clip of cam feeding rod popcorn.. i thot it was cute, actually. around me you would get more likely get orange slices or watermelon chunks with squeezed lime, plump juicy grapes or ripe berries.. maybe some roasted cashews or almonds.. oh, and btw, would you like another cold beer?

Look, I dig that. I don't mind being fed by my ladies. But, I think that sort of activity gets reserved for the bedroom...you know...late at night, or maybe the next morning.

There's no way that activity should be transpiring in public, and especially not AT THE SUPER BOWL.

It was noted that today was Nick Nolte's birthday...a particularly youthful photo of NN was highlighted.

Honestly, I sort of dig Nolte. He strikes me as a man's man. And, anyone who parties this hard is "ok" with me:

In re: the DXY....

I posted this earlier today:

Here's the dip on the DXY...maybe carving out the right shoulder. 77.60 and 77.32 are first and second levels of support. Decent risk/reward with cash DXY printing 77.73. The stop loss point is fairly well defined.

February 8, 2011 11:20 AM "

After bottoming at 77.63, DXY is at 78.00 We got in at a good moment...this index has to keep chugging now...I don't want to see this thing have ANY weakness overnight..

Wouldn't like to see it tread below 77.84, and will be OUT of new length at 77.73, which would take me out of this new dollar length at ZERO P&L.

The bullish wave count suggests Bucky should start screaming....

Hard to tell on DXY. Weekly charts still showing indecision. But if it closed lower this week the weekly 3LB reversal price will be 78.21 making a reversal more likely.

Ra-

Yeah, on the DXY, I'm attempting to get in "near the bottom" here....

So, you know what they say about those that try to pick bottoms....

"They get stinky fingers."
~~~~~~~~
It just feels close to "something"...that's why I'm compelled to try here...
Bet this won't happen here: Senior Bondholders To Suffer Losses
Amagerbanken A/S, the insolvent Danish lender seized by the government, is the first European bank to be rescued under new regulations designed to ensure senior bondholders suffer losses in a bailout.
Investors in about 2 billion kroner ($360 million) of notes face losing almost half face value after the transfer of 15 billion kroner of the Copenhagen-based bank’s assets to a state- owned company, Bloomberg data show. Liabilities staying at the failed bank total about 13 billion kroner and include subordinated and hybrid debt, about 5.6 billion kroner of bonds backed by the government, as well as senior unsecured bonds.
