I don't read much into the $spx candle
it's only a short term uptrend, according to Nison hanging man ideally comes at the end of a long bull run, ideally an all-time high.

iow.....I'd bet on more chop into October rather than a clavadista to the downside

of course, there are ......outliers.

The fact that the hanging man closed lower makes it more bearish. Then there's this: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-19/italy-s-credit-rating-cut-one-level-to-a-by-s-p-as-government-debt-mounts.html
Italy Rating Lowered by S&P, Outlook ‘Negative’
So not only may tomorrow open lower but it may close lower.

From other thread...

Yeah ben nailed it... (vis a vis) OPERATION TWIST...

"as if the Bernank ever had an original thought"...

---

Of course... on this blog... a few months ago... CV made several references to what I'd termed 'Operation Titty Twister'...

Never got much feedback on it so I went my merry way elsewhere...

Rough day in the NFL (for most people) yesterday...

As it turns out, I was 6-7-1 on ATS picks (which is like 14-0 based on the 'kookiness of result' factor)...

My footnote to the blog thread was to: (well - here it is here)...

Sunday Afternoon Note: This will not be a high unit play for me... But I'm leaning towards the RAMS as a play at the moment...

I'm thinking about finding another team to TEASE the Rams to in this spot... With a 6.5 line, Vegas likes to tantalize the Betting New York public with the idea that all its team has to do is WIN, and it covers one half of a teaser (which is probably why the Jets are 9.0 - 9.5 vs. the Jags as well)...

My rules say:

NEVER put a team which the public thinks is a LOCK into a tease... Which, in this case, eliminates the Texans, Cowboys, Packers, Steelers, & Ravens... Don't take crappy teams (teams who probably won't win 6 games), avoid ROAD teams when possible, or teams that turn the ball over a lot... What I just said basically eliminates the: Chiefs, Jags, Seahawks, Bengals, Panthers, Broncos...
Leaving you with Bears, Saints, Lions, Bills, Raiders, Titans, Cards, Redskins, Colts, 49ers, Dolphins, Patriots, Chargers, Eagles, Falcons as options...

When possible... TAKE THE POINTS...
Narrowing the field down to: Bears, Raiders, Titans, Cards, Colts, 49ers, Dolphins, Chargers, Falcons *(eliminated due to timezone or shady line)...

I just don't trust the Titans or Falcons yet, So I'll say the best TEASE option would be (in order of preference):

1. 49ers (+9)
2. Chargers (+13)
3. Dolphins (+9)
4. Colts (+8)

Note that most of those come in UNDER the psychological numbers of "10" & "14"... Also... If VEGAS gets pummelled Sunday, the Giants - Rams line may move to 7.5 (meaning you'd be getting +13.5 with the Rams)...

As it turns out... I 'teased' the 49ers (my #1 ranked pick) & so I'm now on the RAMS tonight for a century...

Ra,

thanks for the idea. ONe thing that would be interesting if we go down directly from here is that the top of the channel that's been formed since 8/9 would not have been met, perhaps a clue that the underlying bear trend is stronger than the demand in the market right now, we'll see...lots of activities this week of course.

I can find some stocks that are starting to break out, made decent money on STMP in the last week but would really prefer to see some big names break out to the upside here. Trying to look for some downside levels in gold to get long.

just treading lightly overall still

thanks for the charts as always man

@ben

I need to hear from you... probably tonight... If you want to escape from the Jamaal Charles debacle...

I'm dangling Michael Turner...

As it turns out... my BROTHER came by the house today (he's 'Oriole 4' in the league)...

We were discussing the same trade... I'll lay it straight on the table for you here...

We're talking about me giving up Michael Turner & Santana Moss...

FOR

Wes Welker & Mark Ingram...

No deal yet...

But all 3 of us need major retooling...

I'll even put Tom Brady on the table if the stakes are right... VERY RIGHT...

@AAIP

To answer a previous comment (from a few threads back - on the Titans & 'pins')...

This is part of cv's lore...

NEVER put a team which the public thinks is a LOCK into a tease... Which, in this case, eliminates the Texans, Cowboys, Packers, Steelers, & Ravens

---

So let's see... PUBLIC 'thinks' those teams are a LOCK (so a 'tease' - where you ADD 6 points - is even LOCKier, right? right?)...

Texans: you'd have covered the tease
Boys: you'd have blown up (cv went the other way & won)
Pack: You'd have been gnawing on your nutsack to barely win that one
Steelers: covered easily (but come on - Seahawks - a leading candidate in the 'Suck for Luck' sweepstakes)
Ravens: blown up, sir (Stripes)...

---

Stick to cv's rules... You might not win any money... But I'll save you from LOSING money on SURE THINGS...

cv said...

'Suck for Luck' = NFL teams will be in a race this year to SUCK (win few games), so that they can land the #1 draft pick (Andrew Luck) in the 2012 draft...

cv said...

See...

Here's the thing... Everyone in FANTASY NATION will be watching tonights game for the:

Mario Manninghams, Hakeem Nicks, Eli Mannings, & Sam Bradfords of the world...

Wanna know what CV will be looking at?

JAKE BALLARD

Who TF? is Jake Ballard?

It doesn't matter... He may not even factor into tonights game that much (but maybe will)...

In any case, the Giants play the EAGLES next week & the way you can smoke the Eagles (as cv has been saying for a month now) is via your tight ends (who get linebacker coverage by the idiot Eagles who spent all their money on a bunck of high priced 'elsewheres')...

Over the fucking hill Tony Gonzalez scored 2 TD vs. the Eagles last night, & the Rams Lance Kendricks would have done the same in week 1 if he hadn't dropped passes...

Jake Ballard bitchez (in the 'rent a TE' world - but that's for NEXT week)... Which means you have to watch him tonight to see how many 'looks' he gets & how he's incorporated into the offense...

Just saying...

CV,

I'm just not into Michael Turner, gotta pass thanks

I love a good fantasy problem like this

It's always been really hard to watch Eli Manning, at least for me, he's so mopey, I like a QB with some fire.

almost as rough as watching Jay Cutler, who I'm pretty sure got smashed into the ground on every single play from midway through the 3rd on, in that game this week.

I'm at the hard rock hotel in Tulsa for the next two nights .... Seeing a several good customers here and doing a charity hold em tourney.

In the early 90s I used to hang out at the hard rock in Vegas .... A LOT.

The clientele are much different.

I'll leave that as my understatement of the year?
