so nflx makes 38 million and is valued at 8 billion, yup...that makes sense, I suppose the market is "pricing in" one hell of a future for them...guess this is what the masses refer to as inflation.

thank you, AR! and don't look at finviz.. the ONLY thing red is the USD..

Ben:

I don't know how far back your memory goes, but Netflix used to be a chronic earnings restater. The quality of earnings was atrocious. It was so bad, that I vowed to never look at another NFLX 10-k again.

It's amazing how quickly people forget.

But hey--do you want to be right, or make money, asshole?

McFearless said...

lol anon, I never really followed netflix, just didn't want to make any money I guess.

McFearless said...

and yeah, it is amazing

someone told me once women would never have more than one child if they could recall the pain, seems to apply to markets.

So, one of the blurbs that ran across CNBC today was this headline: "Eleven government agencies convene to discuss the foreclosure mess."

I spat out my coffee.

In my wildest imagination, didn't realize there could be ELEVEN fucking government agencies that could meet on this topic.

Good thing we've got eleven of them...who knows what kind of mess we'd be in without government oversight.

bwwahahhahahahah

I don't know- but my man Jobs is looking a bit like the crypt keeper-

ahab,

you do realize that if Jobs were to pass the nation,.... maybe even the whole world, would fall into complete chaos, right?

Andy T said...

@McFear:

If Steve Jobs died, it would trigger at least a 5% drop in global indexes. A trillion dollars of "wealth" would disappear overnight.

Unfortunately, I'm not joking.

McFearless said...

probably would, look what happened last time with the health scare, there was def. short term reaction to that.

"No Sign Foreclosure Problems 'Systemic': White House"
http://www.cnbc.com/id/39767501

One wonders if the Progressive blogosphere (TBP) will direct a little vitriol to the Obama Administration over such a proclamation. If a more conservative administration made such an utterance, there would be plenty of backlash.

It wouldn't be as good as Nina Simone Backlash, but there would be some....

@Andy T

11 agencies?...

How come there's no FORECLOSURE CZAR?

I demand answers!... I hereby nominate Ritholtz for FORECLOSURE CZAR!

wunsacon said...

AndyT @ 9:15 PM,

I don't see vitriol. But, if my wife and I are some kind of indicator, I do sense that the progressive base will not turn out in big numbers to re-elect their supposed representatives.

At this point, I'm not sure a ditz like Christine O'Donnell would make things worse.

~~Send in the clowns~~ (They're already here!!)

wunsacon said...

>> How come there's no FORECLOSURE CZAR?

You know...that just might happen.

cv said...

@wunsa

Trust me... she would make things worse...

Just what we need... A Maxine Waters on the other side of the table...

wunsacon said...

McFearless,

FUCK! I wanted to do that...

(Dang it. I just don't get enough time away from my regular job to get traction on certain hobby projects.)

wunsacon @ 10:34

Regarding Christine O'Donnell,

a vote for a senator is little more than a vote for Senate Majority leader, or Minority leader.

The other 98 senators are largely superfluous.

Doesn't really matter if she's a ditz or a genious; the voting on senate bills will be the same either way.

wunsacon said...

>> A Maxine Waters on the other side of the table...

But, don't matter and anti-matter disappear after they meet? I see this as a *solution*. ;-)

wunsacon said...

Alright, I'm pooped. Signing off.

Someone please make the dollar bounce. Hard.

G'nite folks.

cv said...

@McF (10:36)

You gotta be kidding me...

OK... WTF do people think?... Stock market predictions?

Alright - Let's put that same algo to the test...

TWITTER?... I guarantee you that if you programmed the same algo to decide whether Justin Beiber or Kayne West would make a better POTUS than George Bush...

Beiber & West would win by 90%...

So there you have it! (forget about whether people end up being right or not)...

Beiber & West for POTUS!

because our country SHOULD (and "is", in fact, run by whovever would win American Idol)...

Ok. I'm done in the comments section at Ritholtz bizarro-town now. It was an interesting week debating with folks who have views other than mind. It's interesting to see how people think and react when pressed with alternate views. Some of the discussions have caused me to think and reflect.

However, it's pretty clear to me that dss/Denise is a fairly hostile and somewhat unstable person and there are several frequent commenters that are somewhat hopeless to even talk to.

If you guys see me there again, please remind me of this pledge.

Andy T said...

cv: Big, big fan of Christina Hendricks. Though, I was a bit let down to find out she wasn't really a real red head.

cv said...

"she wasn't really a real red head"

I want to know how you found that out...

No I don't...

Yes I do...

No I don't...

MEH... I know already... ror

arbitrage789 said...

Andy @ 11:03

will do.

cv said...

As for Ritholtz...

WTFE?

The BEST thing that ever happened to me was that I got kicked off that site... (or moderated into oblivion)...

Bunch of morons... (but it's hard, in human nature, to avoid rubbernecking when you pass a car wreck)...

It's for people who REALLY, REALLY like to waste their time...

Andy T said...

Indeed. Also, out of curiosity and went back and did some checking...

I don't have the exact percentage, but in the last week, 80-90% of the time dss/Denise showed up to comment at TBP, it was with the sole intent to respond to me.

That made me a bit nervous and was the other reason to remove myself. Was a little too weird.

Good night all.
