@CV, good call on OSU vs. IA State.

@Whammer

lol

It happens every year... These aren't 'professionals'... It's rare to find a group of kids who know how to close the deal...

Now I pretty much expect LSU to lose to Arkansas when that game comes up...

All the while, the Houston Cougars will be standing there "Look at us! Look at us!... We're the only undefeated team!"

Meanwhile - the BCS committee ("committee" - don't you love that word?)... will be sitting there trying to reason... again... to everyone, that the current, bogus system of preferential schools & preferential payouts, IS essentially a PLAYOFF system & it should be left alone (with THEM making all thge money of course)...

I'm trying to remember the last PLAYOFF system where, if you were unbeaten and everyone else had a loss or two, you WEREN'T playing for the title...

All I can say is...

Go HOUSTON COUGARS!

&

Go ARKANSAS... beat LSU!

"committee" - HA!

It's hard enough if you lock 10 people in a room together getting TWO of them to decide what time they should break for lunch...

Oh... but Obama & the Dems think it's a good idea though... To give it more prestige, let's call it a "SUPERCommittee" (you know - like "double secret probation")...

Then if the Supercommittee can't come to terms, just appoint a czar... That's the 'free & democratic' land that we live in...

The only thing that I CANNOT conscientiously object to about it all is that it was the very same 'democratic elections' that put the fools in office to make all these decisions to begin with... That's assuming that your vote actually counts & that it's not run by DIEBOLD machines...

Well, then I suppose the 'media mind benders' ought to stand up and take a bow (together with the 'media mind bendees')... I'll just be over here in the corner being a good little 'media mind BENDOVER...

"These are not the droids you are looking for..."... "Carry On..."

& if you happen to belong to the church of "skittle deucing unicorns who all have perfect pitch when it comes to singing kumbaya"... well.. think about it...

Even in pop culture today, just about everything, behaviorally, points in the opposite direction of cooperation...

Shows on TV...

- Survivor
- DWTS
- Amerikan Idol
- Great Race (or whatever that show is called)

All basically deal with ELIMINATION... Whittle it down to last man standing (who gets to take home all the booty)...

The only 'cooperation' that goes on in Survivor (with the tribes), is done in a conniving sense & in a spirit of if it happens to be expedient for your own personal gain to put on airs of cooperation, you do it...

As I said earlier this week... In financial markets, it'll come down to JPM & Goldman Sachs in the end...

Why?

Well... It's easier to "fix" a boxing match than it is to "fix" a football game...

that's exactly, what the 'Cained Peep have been Sleeping on--during the S&P 500-ization of the, formerly, American Economy..

what's, almost, as amazing, is that there are many, still, that pine for the 'daze' of the "Clinton-Era"--the Era that saw 'Roll-Up' as the 'new' Watchword on Wall St. ... among other, of numerous, ills..

cv--,

btw, that Cyclones v. Cowboys was a good one~

Iowa St. played hard..

what amazed me about that 'Spread', was that one would had to have thought that ISU was, still, the 'doormat' they were--a couple of years ago..

but, really, good of you for pointing that out.~

@AAIP

The cyclones can wreak havoc when they want to...

I underestimated them earlier this year when I took Iowa going in there and got the doors blown off...

I know they can 'ball', but I think more important was that I was fading the Vegas Angle of all of the johnny come latelies who were just hopping on the OKSU train...

One of the more dangerous situations around is when you're a newcomer (like OKSU) who is on the verge of something special, to have to go in ON A WEEKINGHT and play in front a hostile crowd & team that considers this game their SUPER BOWL...

It's almost frighteningly unequal (in the opposite way of how the public sees it)...

Good game anyway...

Sad thing is... they'll probably just blame it on the kicker...

Same thing ruined Boise State last year...

Weekly 3LB Update 11/18/11

ben22 said...

Ra,

on $spx, am I reading it right that 1246-1247 is the mid line reversal? that just happens to be roughly the bottom of the rising triangle line by 12/5.

Anonymous said...

wow, those were some 'nice' Results out of NCAA-land...

USC traveling N. and shooting Ducks surprised me..

would have, less so, if they were in SoCal..

though, now that I think about it, I heard that, similar, sentiment, more than once, over the last few days..
~~

Baylor over OU was sweet, too..

also, was good to see Michigan handle the 'Huskers, and PennState put down OSU..

UVA over the Seminoles was pretty amazing, as well..

1247.52 is the monthly 3LB mid and is where long term sentiment changes from bullish to bearish.

@AAIP

I pretty much was saying it all week long...

When the going gets tough... the tough get CHOKING'

See that?

- #2 spot is vacated (OKSU), what then happens? a void is created to claim the prize...

- #4 Oregon - CHOKE
- #5 Oklahoma - CHOKE
- Hell, even #3 Alabama could hardly put away Georgia Southern

Next up?

Arkansas beats LSU

---

Now what do we do with the UNBEATEN HOUSTON COUGARS???

Answer coming from BCS 'geniuses' in 5...4...3...2...

#7 CLEMSON said...

Hey - don't forget about us... we CHOKED too...

cv--

yes, I did see this: "When the going gets tough... the tough get CHOKING "

and, really, tis' amazing~ both, that you laid it out, and that it happened--so broadly..

tho, re: Razorpigs, I'm, still, not so sure..

still think LSU is under-rated..

I've got a friend who is a long suffering OKState football fan.

He's been admitting to me all year his nervousness about that team...that they would certainly lose a game or two.

Shocker against the pesky Cyclones.

Andy T said...

how about them Trojans?

Pissed off they weren't showing that game in Houston last night...

Rolling up to oregon and beating the ducks on their home turf is TOUGH, TOUGH.

The state of Oregon was always the tough game on the USC schedule back when they had the best teams in College football...

It's impressive....

Barkley is "legit."
