AT,
re: older cars, my car now has 136k on it, I'm hoping to drive it quite a while longer
so I have a visor on the back window that there is a button for, well the stupid visor is stuck up, the button doesn't work now, I got a quote to fix it the other day, $1,900.
lol, I've never once left that dealership for under $400, and I especially enjoy the gold leaf wiper fluid they love to try and charge me $12 for to top me off.
regarding the market, can't help but note that there are lots and lots of bullish chart set ups out there, while I wouldn't be shocked by any pullback soon I'm still thinking quite a few individual names will do pretty well the next couple months.
Love smokey the bear....
Trimmed shorts. Only running a 20% of max short here.
Mostly thinking about napa this weekend and officiating a marriage on Friday.
The problem with no car payments and driving "older cars" is the occassional 1000+ bill that comes along when an alternator goes bad.....
Love it.
Ben,
Yeah, I drive a 2001 Mercedes .... The Germans definitely know how to build a car, but man, when there's a problem, go ahead and lube up....
I haven't found a good German "mechanic" yet so I still take it to this rip off dealership. The place is undergoing a 5.5mm renovation (that's the price tags according to my shuttle driver)....
A 5.5mm renovation? WTF?!?
Nice.
Never again....though the free loaner was a decent perk.
out of curiosity..
does Justin Verlander (Pitcher, Cy Young Award winner, from the Detroit KittyKats) remind anyone else of "Tintin" ?

AT,
I'm in an 05, and oddly enough, the dealer in wilmington just did a major reno in the last year as well, funny that. the customer service still generally sucks for a "luxury brand" imo.....
most mechanics can't work on them is what I've found, need a computer just to do the oil change

@Amen
I found your 'headline' for the market melt-up...
"Asteroid to Miss Earth"
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/better-expectations-asteroid-miss-earth
Now my thinking is, that it'll wheel around the sun, then come back & strike us on the backside...
Then the NEXT DAY, Krugman will come out and give us an estimation of the GDP bump from all the death & annihilation (vis-a-vis Fukushima)...
Then we'll be talking a REAL melt-up...

Find a good imported parts shop and a mechanic that knows Mercedes. Dealer repair is a known rip off.
