From BR's Mac v. PC users charporn:

"58% of Mac people are “liberal,” as compared to 38% of PC people"

It was actually 62% and 38%...there was 4% Margin of Error in the Sampling.

Heh heh....could't resist the Fibonacci Fanboy Humor.

So let me get this right. Comex raises margins (again) on silver. The LME reopens tomorrow. Who was about to go under due to margin calls before the raising?

Andy T said...

I never could understand the concept of raising margins after a big move higher. The only people you're hurting with such a move are the folks who are short. It's almost like you're trying to force shorts to cover or something.

Odd.

The fact that Silver has gone backward this year is a signal that that prompt inventories are tight...there's not doubt about that. The May/July spread looks flat to me...if not very slightly contango...so, the "dead, dead prompt" Silver must be backward, or lacking enough inventory to meet current demand.

I suppose that's not really a surprise at all if it's investor who are demanding and taking delivery...the shit's leaving to go into "someone's" vault somewhere and they "ain't" selling it right now.

Ebay demand for the 'junk' as been stella'.

Oh, check out this crazy contraption... kinetic sculpture

They are putting a serious beatdown on silver in the after hours. Trying to get it back to Thursday prices. I guess the last thing they wanted was a margin call early in the morning.

AmenRa said...

Oh and JBTFD since margin increases have a half life of hours.
