Morning Corner 6.9.11

DJ TRANS AVG (weekly info)
WEEKLY REVERSAL new low 5220.25
trend=no
direction=down (1 bar)
low= 5220.25
rev= 5514.87; mid= 5367.56

Is the DJ Trans Avg leading the way for the rest of the US indices? It's already confirming the weekly 3LB reversal. It's further below its SMA(21). It's below its monthly 3LB mid. Please form a single line at the exit. No pushing.

DJ INDU AVG (weekly info)
-no change (below mid)
trend=no
direction=up (2 bars)
high= 12810.54
rev= 11858.52; mid= 12334.53

The Dow Industrial is not fully in sync with the Trans Avg…yet. But because the high coincided with the end of the month and end of the week the 3LB reversals are similar. It's below its weekly 3LB mid (& monthly) but hasn't reversed. It's also below its SMA(21). A lot can happen in two days.

@Bertie/Amen (from other thread)

I don't use mp3... But I 'mix' in mp3 format...

Blowing it up to CD is really basically just expanding the file 10x... (or vice versa - cutting down to mp3 reduces the file size by the same ratio and cuts out all the redundancies)...

So you can MIX in mp3, then expand & burn it onto CD...

But once it audio is in mp3 format you lose some the dynamics of the song. The expansion from mp3 back to cd audio does not restore what was lost.

cashed in 80% LNKD puts, lucked out on this trade, more than covered losses in my SLV calls. bot UPRO... oh why!? Thinking SPX bounce to 1287 (18.5), maybe even near 1296 (18) by tomorrow, will sell EOD or tomorrow. TBT calls still suck!

I'm finding it odd that DXY is higher, EURUSD is lower and yet SPX is higher. But then gold, silver and oil are all higher also. Something's lurking.

Bloomberg has lost its way. It used to provide both sides of a discussion. Now they want happy talk. I actually miss "On the Economy". I guess someone mentioned to them about having too much "truth". It's to the point now that I don't want to even turn them on.

...and the main reason indices are higher is because of rollover. IMHO.

AR, been feeling the same... we're going to make a big PM move soon, can't figure up or down tho... maybe it's just me

copper? near $4.10 or so,

but you can purchase these NEW 1 TROY POUND .999 FINE COPPER INGOT BULLION BAR for $9.96 + $5 shipping, who in their right mind would?

Why do I get the feeling that today is
MUST...RETAKE...1300...OR...ELSE

because 1300 sounds so much higher than 12XX!, peeps will but then.

just like $12.99 is alot cheaper than $13

but = buy (fat fingered it)

AR, I guess if someone is already going to buy a new car, they may choose an electric one. I'm thinking the major car companies are going to force them down the publics throats, you may pay a premium if you don't buy an electric car. Or maybe a punishment TAX if you don't buy an electric vehicle.

AmenRa said...

QQQQ

But like CV mentioned earlier. Our electric grid isn't capable of handling too many electric cars. Now if we get around to adding thorium reactors then maybe.

QQQQ said...

AR, I'd like to see a study on that. If refineries are producing less fuel, they're using less electricity. The fuel lines to major cities will pump less so less electricity again. The gas stations will be using less electricity to pump less fuel. Many peeps will use solar/wind to charge their cars. There's alot to this... really

When I was in San Jose/Sunnyvale a while back, I saw Google headquarters had converted 30+ Prius's to 100% electric. They parked them under canopies that were actually solar recharging stations. Other company's are doing this also.

"who in their right mind would"

Who said anyone was ever doing any buying "in their right mind" QQQQ?

Is that what people do in markets?

;-)

CV,

did you again miss in the ZH article where they slip in "seems to us" yet then treat all their "evidence" as factual?

speculative opinion is more like it, and that's why people are in this market....to speculate, ZH, of all places should understand the meaning of the word speculation as it is what 80% or more of their posts are.

I've yet to hear of the Algo that's taken over the entire investing world. Being so good at manipulation and all I'm realy not sure what's taking so long. Lag-time maybe? I'm sure though it's only transitory, and soon enough the black box will be built that can push around markets at all degrees of trend despite the fact that after programmed these "math wizards" don't even know what many of their programs are going to actually do.

QQQQ said...

@B22, yeh I guess, but buying 1 troy pound of copper for $15 when copper is trading near $4.10/lb just doesn't sound right. They say they've sold over 25,000 though. All these people did was buy regular copper bars, cut them to length, looks like they stamped them with a coin... buffalo nickel (see the design is backwards, inverted), shined them for sale.

I install .999 copper bars for grounding on many of my jobs and we sure don't pay close to that price per pound. But like you say, it's a market but I wouldn't ever buy these for an investment like they say to do.
