Hush money... 'Ol Boys Networks... Mexican Standoffs...

It's a good thing we count of the fact that NONE of that stuff probably ever happens in 'financial markets'...

E-Trade babies & TD Ameritrade account holders "firing off the trade" with their pattern recognition software...

THAT'S what moves capital markets... That's why it's so honest & efficient...

who do you like in the "Tree v. Duck", Pac-10+2+n..., Match-Up?

also, how do you like the Vols, on the Road, v. the Razorpigs, + the pins?

cv said...

@AAIP

I like the DUCKS & the VOLS...

---

No line movement on the "Trees vs the Quacks", but the vig on taking the Trees moved to -106...

IOW - Vegas likes the Ducks

---

90% of the $$ is on the razorpigs...

Assuming there are not a lot of upsets during the day... I like the VOLS...

Right now... OKSU, Nebraska, Northwestern, & Sparty are covering...

Vegas needs Boston College (covering), + Mizzou to step up...

So basically - So far I like the VOLS (& pins)...

@AAIP

it's still very much up in the air...

The public liked...

LOUISVILLE
OHIO ST
CLEMSON
NC STATE
BAYLOR
TEXAS

None of them covered...

The heroes (for the public) were...

NORTHWESTERN
E MICHIGAN
KENT ST
TULSA
VANDY
OKLAHOMA STATE
MICH ST
CHOKIN CHICKENS
NORTH TEXAS

Pushed were:

PENN STATE
WEST VIRGINIA

---

Bottom Line?

Mostly... Joe dipshit public was probably on Oklahoma State (which covered)... In aggregate, it's probably about EVEN thus far...

---

I'm going to stick with OREGON & TENNESSEE thus far...

Especially if MICHIGAN, BOISE ST., KANSAS STATE, MIAMI, USC, & AUBURN cover...

If less than 3 of those teams cover... I'll go only with OREGON (and drop the units on it from 4 units to 2 units)...

Oh my. Florida St's Reid is really fast.

cv said...

@Amen

How about Carlos Williams???

cv said...

@AAIP

I gotta say...

Too many public backed teams went or are going down for my taste...

Plus... Vegas is chasing Arkansas - Tenn to 16 from 13...

---

At this point, I'd stick with Oregon, but I can't back the VOLS...

re: Vols, they were 'in the Paper', this AM, @ 14 1/2

that's what 'I got'..

amazing that it's down to 13...

seems a large move..

also, 'Water Fowl' +3, in the 'night game'..

Razorpigs played well ~

the Vols were, truly, handled..

I was hoping that the Line was going to be closer to 21, even that... :)

Weekly 3LB Update 11/11/11

cv said...

@AAIP

When you said "down to 13" (7:09)... It was actually the other way... The line had moved FROM 13 up to 16...

That's partly why I didn't like the prospects of the game right before kickoff...

What happened was that Vegas had basically made its day moneywise (because enough teams that were heavily backed by the public (like Ohio State, Clemson, & Texas) didn't cover... Also, Penn State - Nebraska was a push...

So since 90% of the bet tickets were on Arkansas, "the House" will often try to even things out by sliding the line (aka "chasing" the line), so that's why it went from 13 to 16...

That was why I didn't like the game at the last minute... Because I would have taken the Vols, but since Vegas was having a decent day already, I was pretty sure a Vol backer wasn't going to get any help from any "calls on the batphone" to the referee booth or coaches box...

If you get what I mean...

cv said...

Of course we all know that nothing "shady" ever really happens...

Just like Wall Street... Clean as a whistle!

Central bankers & politicians just sit there on their hands in their ivory towers and hope that the aggregate moves of "traders" doesn't produce shocks to the tidy little system they've created...

@AAIP

Here's one way of doing it...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/european-ponzi-goes-full-retard-efsf-found-monetize-itself

---

Market some 'bonds' on the loss you took on Arkansas & buy them with the win you had on Oregon... Then lever it up 40x...

You'll be getting paid a 10% coupon (plus the leverage) on the loss you took with the Razorpigs...

It's that simple!

Then on Monday, you can go buy some call options on some stocks (with the collateralized income stream) and double your fun...

That's how the "PhD's" do it!

cv said...

If it all goes kablooey... You just grease some politicians campaigns & convince them to organize into a "Super Committee" (aka - committee to insure that the 'grease' that is spread around is limited to 7 [which is the "majority" in a 12 panel jury])...

Their recommendations will be to fund a full bailout of your losses, and a PR campaign will promptly be organized to convince the cained peeps to 'take another one for the team' at the tax window...

It's all a "101" course at Harvard...

cv said...

BTW, the "PR" campaign part is a freebie because you have people like Krugman & Ritholtz around (as well as the rest of the 'cained part of the blogosphere)...

cv said...

@McF

I guess you heard that DeSean Jackson was inactive for Sunday because he was late for a team meeting...

How the hell did I miss Laurent Robinson on the WW??? (juggling too many teams I guess)...

re: Vols line..

obviously, that's big difference..

13 to 16, instead of 16 to 13.

I hadn't been watching that 'over time'..

but, your points, above, make (much) sense.
~~

though, yes, the EFSF is an, amazing, pile of 'steam off the Horsepl*p' -- to put it as nicely as poss. ..

as an aside, I *love how these new, appointed, "Leaders" are referred to as 'Technocrat(s)'..

I guess "Slave Master" might carry the wrong/not sought 'Optics'..

AAIP

though, C-Football-wise, it was *interesting, as badly as Tenn was handled, so was Stanford (esp. in the 2nd Half)..

and, though on the 'wrong side', the kids from Arkansas, certainly, played well ~

"DeSean Jackson"

to me, that dude is tremendously Over-rated..

I think, but for, his Punt Return (v. NYG), last year, he would have, already, been forgotten about..

also, does he strike anyone else as being a candidate to go "Single-Digits"(on the Wonderlic test)?

ibid.

cv said...

@AAIP

I wrote it up at the beginning of the season (vis-avis 'Jackson')...

He took a hit that cleaned his clock (vs. Houston - on a Thursday Night game) last year...

Since then, he NEVER goes over the middle... He only runsd '99 routes and tiptoes around...

He's done...

cv said...

@AAIP

I think the Bayou Bengals are going to have their hands full with the Razorpigs...

Just saying... BCS Championship is never booked, until it's booked...

Anonymous said...

cv--

if the Razorpigs play like they did, yesterday, they'll be a good opponent for LSU..

though, I, still, think that yon' 'Bayou Bengals' are under-rated..

also, what was up with that 'Hilltopper' +4 1/2, in Louisiana, Line?

I didn't see that, until later, but, was thinking ~"wtf?"..
~~~
also, yes, I remember, now that you mention it, you had 'called that out', re: "DeSean" ..
~~~

btw, what's the 'Story' with these Teams laying down 7-digits for Haynesworth?

are there, really, not long lines of dudes that would (attempt, anyway) 'Chew nails, and Spit tacks' for the 'League minimum' ?

Wow. Cv, the ravens better be careful...the super bowl may go through Reliant Stadium....

When you can dominate the line of scrimmage like that and win without the best player even playing....

Around these parts we don't tend to start getting excited until AFTER the Championships are won...

But I can imagine for a city like Houston...

Well, I'm sure they're going thru the same euphoria that Lions & Bills fans have in recent weeks...
